First Look: Photos from Hansel And Gretel. Nottingham Playhouse. Neville Studio.

Hansel and Gretel, a classic children’s tale adapted for the Nottingham Playhouse Studio stage by Monika Johnson is aimed at children 3 to 8 years old and is the perfect fifty minute staged story to introduce children to live theatre.

Plot: Cold and tired, the fairy tale siblings Hansel and Gretel stumble upon a cosy cottage made from delicious gingerbread ( edible housing, it’s quite the latest house design trend you know) and are invited inside… But this hideaway in the woods may not be as sweet as it seems. But fear not kids because even though Hansel and Gretel may meet a witch and have all sorts of unpredictable adventures – you are there to help them find a way home safe and sound. Hurrah! In fact, there are plenty of opportunities for you and grown ups to join in and some fab music and songs. It will be the best fifty minutes you have spent in Nottingham Playhouse’s warm and cosy and just little bit magical, studio space. You lucky things!

Hansel and Gretel is directed by Beth Shouler with Megan Vaughan-Thomas playing Hansel and Maya Thompson as Gretel. Composer and Musical director is David Gibb with Samuel Fransch is set designer with Laura Wolczyk as Lighting designer.

Hansel and Gretel runs at Nottingham Playhouse’ Neville Studio until 31st December
