MEDIA QUOTES

★★★★★

“AN UNSTOPPABLE CULTURAL JUGGERNAUT”

“A fiendishly well-crafted, hilariously smart – or maybe smartly hilarious – extravaganza. Each time you think they can’t possibly top a particularly crazed moment, ten more follow.”

“By the time The Book of Mormon ends in an orgy of over-the-top-cheer, you just can’t wait to get on that ride all over again.”

“I ♥ The Book of Mormon”

–       New York Post

★★★★★

“Blissfully original, irreverent, outspoken and hilarious. It’s a show where you catch yourself laughing one minute, mouth agape the next, eventually wiping away tears, and finally, cheering. Being among the converted is what it’s all about.”

“OH BOY IT’S A REAL WINNER”

–       New York Daily News

“It’s incredible. The Book of Mormon is so good it makes me angry. If aliens come thousands of years from now, and this is the record from our time on earth, I will be absolutely satisfied with that.”

“Mormon is a crowning achievement”

“SOMEONE ARREST TREY PARKER AND MATT STONE FOR STEALING OUR HEARTS”

–       Jon Stewart, The Daily Show

The Book of Mormon grabs the audience by the lapels and doesn’t let go. This show may offend thousands – if not more – with its roll-in-the-aisles lunacy. This is a blessed relief from the revival rut, and bless Matt Stone and Trey Parker’s iconoclastic hearts for it!”

THE BOOK OF MORMON IS HILARIOUS, UPROARIOUS, OUTRAGEOUS, SPIKY, AND HIGHLY ENTERTAINING”

–       The Huffington Post

“Matt and Trey: Where have you been all my life? You’ve discovered your true calling as the wit-spewing class clowns of musical theatre. A pricelessly entertaining act of musical-comedy subversion. This extraordinarily well-written show is ONE OF THE MOST JOYOUSLY ACIDIC BUNDLES BROADWAY HAS UNWRAPPED IN YEARS.”

  • The Washington Post

“THE FUNNIEST MUSICAL OF ALL TIME.”

The Book of Mormon is an exhilarating musical, at once revolutionary and classic, hilarious and humane, funny and obscene, uncompromising in its writing and unafraid of just about anything. Trey Parker and Matt Stone have crafted a phenomenally blasphemous, rather perfect show. This is what the 21st-century musical can be. I believe in The Book of Mormon.”

– Entertainment Weekly

The Book of Mormon is an extravaganza of jaw-dropping obscenity, hair-raising blasphemy, and irresistible good cheer. It hits such heights of offensive hilarity that it leaves audience members literally gasping for breath.”

“THE FUNNIEST MUSICAL OF ALL TIME”

– Vogue

★★★★★

“The geniuses of South Park make history.”

The Book of Mormon is as good as it gets. It’s on its march into legend. Laughs come hard, long, hard, and uncut. This is the new gold standard for musicals. It should keep audiences in shock and awe for years.”

“COME ON MORMONS, GO INTO YOUR DANCE.”

– Rolling Stone

The Book of Mormon is a confetti burst of profanity, blasphemy, and hilarity that sends up and makes love to the musical and, in the process, rejuvenates it. It constitutes the happiest example of a civilization whose culture at the moment seems to consist largely of quoting and recycling and re-spinning. Mormon is provocative, lacerating, impious, original, witty, crude, and utterly delightful.”

“THIS IS THE MORMON MOMENT.”

– The New York Times
