Creature From The Unknown
New improv comedy group Creature Comedy bring their gothic horror-inspired comedy show, which debuted with a 5-star “masterclass” in March, to Cambridge Junction on 30th October.
On dimly lit Victorian streets, gentlemen, ladies and the occasional cockney street urchin go about their lives, unaware that they are being watched. In the shadows, ready to cause chaos, lurks a monster so mysterious that not even we know what form it will take. A vampire? A were-pig? A living Tickle-Me-Elmo? That’s up to the spirits that guide our story (sometimes called the ‘audience’). Once it manifests, it will hunt, possess and terrorise its victims until they finally realise that something is terribly wrong!
Creature From The Unknown unites some of Cambridge’s finest improvisers to bring your nightmares to life. Watch as they produce a brand-new gothic horror before your very eyes with only your suggestions and their razor-sharp wit. Inspired by the original gothic horrors of the 1800s and monster movies of early Hollywood, Creature From The Unknown promises a freakishly funny and sensationally spooky evening of entertainment.
Creature Comedy is a collective of comedians that specialise in improvisation and are based in Cambridge. Our members have found success with other groups such as Cambridge Improv Factory, The Cambridge School Of Improv, The Workplace, The Cambridge Impronauts and more. Our team is dedicated to paying tribute to classic gothic tales while utilising the tropes and style of the genre to combine horror and comedy. With live scoring from our resident pianist and dynamic sound effects from our technician, all of our shows are truly unique and provide an experience specific to each audience.
