Amélie director Cat Nicol in conversation.
“I have always wanted to direct Amélie ever since I first saw the London production back in 2019. It’s such a beautiful, quirky, and joyous musical and I fell in love with it immediately! It’s a piece that is very much driven by the ensemble and we’ve had a lot of fun working out interesting ways of using the actors to create different elements of the scenes!
We’re incredibly lucky to have Frances Sayer as our Movement Director; she has brought so much energy and creativity to the show and it’s a joy to work with her along with James Harvey, our Musical Director, who I last worked with on the musical Once.
Amélie is based on the French film of the same name and is packed full of romantic melodies, colourful characters, and fantastical fun! We’re looking forward to bringing this show to Cambridge audiences. “
Amélie runs at the ADC theatre in Cambridge 1-5 April 2025.
