News: What’s happening during Captioning Awareness Week

We recently got in touch with Stagetext and they kindly gave us a breakdown of what is happening and what you can do during Captioning Awareness Week 14-20 November 2022

This Captioning Awareness Week Stagetext is putting customer experience in the spotlight and giving deaf audiences the opportunity to recommend the venues they love and why they recommend their deaf access. What was it about your experience that made them welcoming and accessible? Stagetext will be celebrating Spotlight Venues based on your recommendations.

You can also join us for one of two Captions Speak Louder online events held during Captioning Awareness Week. Our touring exhibition will be hosted by The MAST Mayflower Studios in Southampton and you can visit it there until 18 November. https://www.stagetext.org/captions-speak-louder/

During the week, professionals from the cultural sector can join us for a series of free online events. These events will illustrate how venues can offer a quality experience for deaf, deafened and hard of hearing audiences, from watching a production trailer to walking through your venue’s doors and taking a seat. https://www.stagetext.org/?page_id=4998&preview=true

There will also be all the fun you can normally expect during Captioning Awareness Week, with captioned and live subtitled shows across the country and lots of ways to get involved on social media. What’s on during #CAW2022
