The pantomime paved with gold… Dick Whittington comes to Royal & Derngate this Christmas
Royal & Derngate’s spectacular family pantomime Dick Whittington takes to the Derngate stage this Christmas from Thursday 9 December to Sunday 2 January.
Dick Whittington is the purrrfect pantomime adventure that follows our hero to seek his fame, fortune and happiness in London Town. With help from the magical Fairy Bowbells and his trusty feline friend, what could possibly go wrong?
Soap star (and Albert Square resident bad boy) Ricky Champ will be leading the cast as the dastardly King Rat, while children’s favourite Phil Gallagher (Cbeebies’ Mister Maker) takes the role of the lovable Billy. Dame Dolly will be played by top Pantomime Dame, the award-winning Bob Golding, and the magical Fairy Bowbells by stage and screen actress Deborah Tracey.

They are joined by Alex Lodge (Book of Mormon, West End) playing Dick Whittington, Anna Unwin as Alice Fitzwarren and Jessie Adams as Tommy the Cat.
This year’s show marks the start of an exciting new partnership with award-winning pantomime producer Evolution Productions, three-time winner of Pantomime of The Year in the Great British Pantomime Awards over the last four years. Written by Paul Hendy and directed by Emily Wood, Dick Whittington promises to be spectacular, top quality entertainment with lavish sets, and a hilarious script.

Jo Gordon, Chief Executive at Royal & Derngate added: “We’re really excited to be working alongside Evolution Productions on this year’s spectacular pantomime Dick Whittington! Christmas is a very special time of year and we understand the importance, this year more than ever, of spending time together with your family and loved ones. So we can’t wait to welcome audiences to what promises to be a fantastic and truly magical family adventure!”
