Promo: Annie the musical UK & Ireland 2019 tour.

Called ‘A Glorious Revival’ by The Times the popular musical Annie is about to launch itself on a UK and Ireland tour this weekend beginning at Manchester Opera House 2nd – 16th Feb. Directed by Nikolai Foster and choreographed by Nick Winston, the smash hit production will begin with Anita Dobson in the role of the tyrannical Miss Hannigan until Bradford Alambra in late April. The show producer is Michael Harrison. Costume design is by Colin Richmond, lighting by Ben Cracknell and sound by Richard Brooker.

Locally we look forward to seeing Strictly Come Dancing judge, Craig Revel Horwood as Miss Hannigan when Annie arrives at Nottingham Theatre Royal Mon 20th May – Sat 25th May.

Alex Bourne is cast as Oliver Warbucks and the main cast include Richard Meek, Jenny Gayner and Carolyn Maitland. The title role of Annie will be shared by Faye Katsande, Ava Smith and Freya Yates.

Set in 1930s New York during The Great Depression, brave young Annie is forced to live a life of misery at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage. He luck soon changes when she is chosen to spend a fairytale Christmas with famous millionaire Oliver Warbucks. Meanwhile spiteful Miss Hannigan has other ideas and hatches a plan to spoil Annie’s search for her true family.
