Promo: Lovely video interview from two cast members of Curve Young Company and Community Fiddler On The Roof.

This is a beautiful interview by East Midlands Theatre interviewing Bill Hinds (Tevye) and Hannah Willars (Hodel). We weren’t expecting such a heart felt response to the working process but were totally overjoyed to find it demonstrated through this incredibly lovely interview. Watch it and book tickets!

Rehearsals are underway for Joseph Stein’s Fiddler on the Roof at Curve.

The Made at Curve musical is currently being created at the Leicester theatre by a professional production team and features a cast of over 100 people from the community, the theatre’s own Curve Young Company performers and Curve Affiliate Group Sidekick Dance.

Performing at Curve 10 – 19 Aug, Fiddler on the Roof is one of the greatest Broadway musicals of all time, including classic songs such as If I were a Rich Man, Tradition and Matchmaker. The production tells the story of a poor man trying to maintain his cultural traditions in the face of oppression.

Playing the leading role of traditional family-man Tevye is Bill Hinds, who previously performed in Curve’s production of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Bill is joined by Debbie Longley as his wife Golde, while Lauren Russell (Tzeitel), Hannah Willars (Hodel) and Rose Caldwell (Chava) play Tevye’s three eldest daughters.

The production is directed by Sarah Ingram, with original choreography reproduced by Curve’s Mel Knott. Sioned Saunders provides musical direction, Curve’s Al Parkinson will bring the neighbourhood of Anatevka to life with set design and vibrant costumes are designed by Curve’s Head of Wardrobe Edd Lindley.

Curve, now established as one of the UK’s leading producing theatres, is celebrating its 10th birthday this year. Recent Made at Curve productions include the award-winning Sunset Boulevard, An Officer and a Gentleman – the Musical and Scrooge the Musical.
