Dance4 and Nottingham Playhouse joined forces in 2017 to host Gathering, a series of networking events specifically for D/deaf and/or disabled people engaging in choreography or theatre as a performer, director, musician, film maker or writer, both recreationally or professionally.

Focusing on how to get your ideas from the page to the stage, this workshop will explore both the creative and practical elements of making and delivering your own work. From how to generate and interrogate the artistic ideas behind a piece, including creating characters and developing story and the storytelling devices at your disposal, to how to build relationships with organisations and secure financial and in-kind support for your work, apply for funding, and build a tour.

Led by award-winning East Midlands writer-performer Ben Norris, a s part of Amplify Festival 2018 at Nottingham Playhouse, Gathering will offer a Professional Development afternoon for the network. There is also an opportunity to see Ben perform his piece The Distance the night before, to book for this click here.

BSL interpreter can be available.
